Rating Table

The table you are presented with, shows the runners for the next set of events for the given day.

An example is shown below.  You’ll see general navigation is shown at the top (Prev Race & Next Race buttons).  Options for you to select such as the “UK” Checkbox (showing only races from UK and IRE).  The Track select forces Pluckier to show only races from a particular meeting.

“Analysis Depth” Options which is the number of Past Races being used for judging today’s Rating (Max Depth is only the last 12 races Ave), also 3 Runs, 1Run and the Best Run (High).

Untitled

As we can see the Horse’s number (#), its stall number (Dr), its colours (or Silks), form figures and name (Name) are listed.  *CLICK a horse to get some breeding details and last run information.  Alongside the horses name you will see it’s age, the number of days since it’s last run, the weight its carrying today (minus any allowance).  Then the trainer and the Jockey.  Next is the Odds from the betfair exchange win market.  Finally the rating.

Rating
The numerical value (Rating) could be called “Today’s Value” as it is the average rating given to each horse over recent races.  The Rating column of the table is the one used to order the table and is therefore the main driver of information.  The higher the Rating the better the horse.  A race with all runners listed under 30 is a real low class race and it wouldn’t take much for one of the horses to upset all the form (or a modest newcomer could come and easily steal the win).  Any horse with a Value of 70 or above will have chances of winning!

T/J

These two columns list the Trainer & Jockey names

If either the trainer or the jockey has only one run / runner at this track today then this is indicated via an asterisk *.  Below it shows both the jockey and the trainer have just this runner today at this track:

The race table displayed will show all runners for any given race, displayed under default settings (the most rounded view).

Further Info

A runner shown with a * after its name simply means its last run was judged to be its best run so far… example:

Untitled

If a runner has 0 as its Rating it means Pluckier can’t rate this runner for whatever reason.  Perhaps the horse hasn’t previously had a run, does it have any form figures… that will tell you if it has previously been out!

    Hi Guys
Love the site… I’ve been using it for a few weeks & have managed to filter out a few winners.
However, in the past few days, I’ve had problems getting the site up on my iPhone.
It won’t load on my PC at work either because Twitter is blocked by my organisation. (but pluckier wasn’t)
I’ve set up the Twitter log in on my home PC so I can access the site here.
Just thought you might want to know about the issues / problems.

  3. What makes a Chess Master competent to rate horses?

Unfortunately I lost my user rights a couple of months ago… I’ve hardly backed a horse since. Pluckiers selections didn’t always win but I loved the feel of having some solid information when I did get an occasional winner up. Gerry M.
